Question when using a sampled Hook?!

so i've got a beat and used a chopped sample (i created myself) of "Lord Infamous" and wanted to present it on youtube, for beatpresentation only!

the EXCLUSIVE sale version wont have the sample included and will be instrumental, the sample is just for example, is it legal or also illegal?

I don't know where the misconception came from that the lenghth of a sample defines how legal it is to use. Unless you have permission (or its royalty free) using someone else recording is a breach of the holders copyright.

I doubt anyone will come after you, unless you make some nice money off it. Especially if its unrecognizable.

so long as you're not using it for commercial use you don't need permission to use it, but whoever is buying the beat (or you can too) will need to contact scarecrow if they want to keep the adlibs (assuming it's for commercial use).

thanks for the reply mane, so uploading a snippet with the sampled hook on youtube isnt automatically commercial i guess? sometimes confusing.
