places to send music

Alternatively, you can shop them with independent artists on the SN sites of your choice or send a CD to the newpapers and alternative press in your area. A major label is not always the solution, sometimes it's just a new breed of problems.

Unfortunately, a record label will never listen to your music if you send it unsolicited. Unless they ask for it, you'll be wasting your time and money.

Firstly, there are legal dangers involved that labels want to avoid, such as claims that people's work was stolen. Secondly, finding talented artists is the job of an A&R rep, so unless you send it directly to them, you mind as well save the postage and place your tape in the nearest trash receptacle instead of the mailbox.

Your best bet is to network with producers that are connected to the industry and attempt to connect with an A&R rep that can get your music heard.

It's better to go after the indie market first in my humble opinion

Ryu Kane,

Instead of trying to target record labels why don't you submit your music to tv, film, video games, etc. Here's a resource where you can get a huge list of music supervisors, music directors, gaming programmers, etc. Good luck!
