Music for cinema ad. Flat fee? Royalties?

Hi guys, I've landed a job where I am to write a 30-60 second soundtrack for a cinema ad. I'm totally new to exposure of this kind, and the commercial side of things, and so I have some questions I hope you will be willing to help me with...

1) How much is a reasonable fee to take? I assume it will be shown before each movie, for 6 - 12 months, in a couple of dozen cinemas.

2) Since my music will be played in public each day for so long, does royalties come into play? Or is that only applicable if the client uses music not originally written for the ad?

3) Should I join PRS for Music just in case? (I'm already a member of TONO, but I live and work in London now.)

Thanks!
