Are Mixtapes turning into the new albums

I agree but i also disagree because even though people are making alot of mixtapes they dont really make money from them... except if they get radio play.

People make lots of money from mixtapes (without radio play) and still are. Do you not remember the whole Dj Drama shake down?

We can't stop this from happening, just find a new avenue. What do people think of this?

Have been for the last few years (at least)

I was thinking that. All I do is listen to mixtapes really.

I feel like a mixtape will never replace the album just for money and business reasons.

BUT

I

LOVE

FREE

STUFF

lol especially music. and if its good too.......
that makes it all the more better!
:)

Not all people can create money from their mixtapes. It takes a lot of creativity to monetize a mixtape.

Those that know how can and those that don't won't. It's sales.... not rocket science.

If you have a fan base in place then selling isn't hard.

Only in hip-hop. Outside of that, mixtapes don't even exist. More just like "demo-reels."
