What information are you looking to gain from a sample? For releasing an album, you would need a strategically tailored plan for your situation. A sample would provide you with ideas but no true specifics.

stick with the discmakers/hostbaby/CDbaby/bookbaby company they are professionals musicians as well as reps for those companies and they get great ppl to write on their blogs one of my goals is to become one of those blog writers in the 24 months but it's all about building the content for my site first.

Finally had some time to go over that guide. Helped a lot. I think I was assuming that I'd be doing everything at the same time. But now I realize I gotta get the album recorded, mixed, and mastered before I did anything else. Never realized that until now. I was in too much of a rush.

Really been doing a lot of work lately. Don't plan to start the label until 2014 but I already created a twitter for it. Just started following a bunch of blogs. Figure that could help with publicity. I was gonna hire a company to do that for me, but why spend $5,000 when I could do all the work myself? So i just basically saved myself a ton of money.

at the grassroots level you have to do all that yourself.

bigger labels have to much paperwork,appointments,duties ..you wouldn't be able to get everything done
most duties would be time sensitive
look at the jobs that are available a record label and then re-examine your post

I understand. They would have more artists. But let's say I'm the only employee and I only sign a maximum of 3 artists at a time, I think I could make a solid living off of that. And I think I'd be able to handle all the work that comes with it.

well that's a grass-root level and you can always outsource like a webmaster and blog writers
