I'm about to sell a beat for the first time (finally lol). I am going to write out a contract for leasing the beat. But how do i go about getting the other guy to sign it. He lives on the other side of the country from me.

Congrads on the beat sale! Yes you can fax or mail but you can also have it digitally signed by both parties for free. Digital sign is the fastest and then you just have to have the customer email it back to you.

Scroll down on my page to a section called "need help writing a lease contract" there you will find the digital sign link. Here is the link..

I would advise that you just make sure your contract covers everything you need and it is written in the correct legal form. Lots of people thing that if it is just written out and signed by both parties then you are covered. This is not always the case if you have to go to court. There is a certain legal format that you should follow and sometimes things can get thrown out of court on a legal mishap...it happens everyday in US courts. I am not trying to sell you but my brother-in-law is an entertainment lawyer and help write up all the contracts on my page. So if you get stuck on something....do check us out and use it as a template. There is NO contract that will cover every situation, but they will give you an idea of what should be and what should NOT be in a contract to make it legal.
