How grimey is the recording industry really...In what ways have u experienced the GRIMEY EVIl side of the industry...or what have you heard of any mainstream artist experiencing he grimey side........

Why is it important to be on ur Ps and Qs regarding this industry???

Unlike the soap or fertilizer industry, many people start out as groupies when it comes to media/entertainment. This groupie mentality leads many to do irrational/unprofitable thing's just to "get in".

This presents a situation where folks who are about the money sell you on LOANS or "NET" PROFITS/POINTS sharing. The horror stories come from folks who think they can play this game without any money or skin on a deal and accept a percentage of NOTHING. If we wanted to start a soap factory, it would be basic supply/demand economics and clean cut GAAP accounting. Naaah...the music game uses fuzzy G.W. math.
 
The "industry" is basically set up to exploit, especially nowadays when artist development has gone out of the window.
