Here's a video that teaches effective marketing for music.

DO:

1. Have a quality song
2. Connect with larger promotion channels (people want to listen to music from these channels)
3. Connect with record stores and retailers that have lots of customers

DO NOT:

1. Spam your song to individual people and try to convert them as fans 1 by 1.
2. Market a song that isn't professional quality.

If you can't make a professional song yet, don't market. Focus on building your talent before you do anything.

If you know any other ways, or have questions, contact me. Thanks :) and have fun.

Amoeba Records: https://www.amoeba.com/our-stores/

And that's just Amoeba. I'm not even mentioning the many local stores in smaller, less musical, cities. I know many record stores in my area. It depends on where you live, I guess. Everything goes out of business in some places (if the local government sucks and the economy is weak).
