DJ wants to remix my music...?

He doesn't have many followers, nor do I but, hey, you never know what could happen and I want to protect myself. He says he needs the vocal and the scale. Do I need to make a contract? Do I need to make some sort of verbal agreement? If so, what should they include? ahhh I'd really appreciate the advice I'm a bit lost here :) (P.S. what is the scale?)
