Dealing with A&R's

How would you react if an A&R (Reputable one) responded to one of your posts and told you to email him your record. Wether it was your song or it was a beat that needed a certain sounding artist.

Would you just send off eagerly? Or would you be worried that that person may steal it? Take your work then get someone to just re-make it. How would you handle the situation?

Me personally, I'd just make sure it's protected and send it. People don't get anywhere without a little risk.

True with everything you all have said. But what if its a sample? Your not the copyright owner of it. Say you have a record thats big, you have the entire scheme laid out for the sound, direction and artist that fits it best. The sample is very apparant and familiar.

Would you stilll send? Of course its all about taking chances but at the possiblity that the A&R could just get someone else to re-sample the record and release it w/o you altogher? Just curious.

If it's sample and you wanna see where this can go then you are just going to have to take that chance. A&R being legit or not if another producer want's to remake what you have it's going to happen (if he really wants to do it)
