Contract before sending Session Files?

Hey FP!

I've been hearing alot of talk about signing a contract before sending a major session files.. But what contract is this? Is it just a contract stating that session files have been sent? .. Is it like a split sheet? Or is it a contract stating percentage of royalties?

Im asking as i've sent a few beats to Managers, and they have replied saying they like the beats and will forward it to there artist(s).. Now IF they reply asking for Session Files/Track Outs .. i wanna be totally sure what im asking for in terms of contracts (Dont want to jump my guns and ask for a royalty/money contracts to early as it might f**k things up for me and the placement)

If you are selling your beat outright (to one person/company), it's an exclusive contract you send.
If you plan to sell (lease) your beat to more than one person, it's a non exclusive / lease contract you send.
