College Major?

I'm 17 and I'm starting to look into what I want to do in life. Would music production (Recording, Mixing, Mastering) be a good major to pursue in college? If not why and what major would you recommend?

what is your focus? success as an artist or success in some other manner?

business major, management, marketing, lawyer are all good non-artist routes into the music business

production could be a good pathway

maybe also design as in websites, graphics, etc

consider also that video production might be a pathway

I love producing, and mixing beats. and I would love to work in a studio and make music for other people other than myself.

If you want to get into the music business, find out where the artists you like hang out. In the United States that probably means New York, Los Angelos, Nashville, or Atlanta. Make it happen.

Get a degree if you want, but do not expect a degree to help you get close to artists.
