Albums, LPs and EPs, what are they really?

LP questions:
Some people say LPs are just vinyls.
Some people say it's longer play and that's what it's shortened for.
1) If it is for longer play, how long is considered to be an LP?
2) Is LP a type of an album?
3) Could it be that it used to be vinyls and now the definition changed?

EP questions:
People say it stands for extended play.
4) What is considered to be an EP, how many minutes approximately?
5) Do you have to have an album or LP released before to release an EP?
6) Is it a type of album?

Album questions:
7A) What is an album? 7 B) Does it ha have to do with the length of the music?
8) What makes it an album and not an LP or EP?
9) What's the difference between all of them them?

Yes you may find some questions stupid, even i do.
I just want it figured out and some other people might be curious too.
I'm not new to music or music production, however, i'm new to the whole album thing, hence all the questions.

I couldn't find a thread with the answers i wanted, neither could i find anything on google either, i want your opinions.

Thanks in advance

Peace

I'm not absolutely sure but I think an EP is 15 tracks or less and an album doesn't have to be a set number of tracks.

That's actually incorrect, i posted the same exact text on bluelight, c&p
Some guy answered it real well, here it goes, i'll make it bold:

1) Typically, a vinyl record is longer than 25 minutes or >4 tracks to be considered LP
2) Yes
3) Yes, I've actually noticed that LPs don't just refer to vinyls but to digital music as well. The definition is essentially the same ( > 4 tracks or > 25 minutes)
4) An EP is a record that runs less than 25 minutes or 4 tracks or less.
5) No. Not sure why it would matter. A lot of producers release EPs before producing albums. In fact, it's been the norm for many producers.
6) This one is hard to answer. But in my opinion no, it is not a type of album. Albums are typically longer than 25 min. But there are exceptions to the rule.
7) It's synonymous with LP so the answer is in the answer to question 1.
8.) An album is an LP but not an EP.
9) I think I've given you enough info to figure that out. But pretty much Album = LP = 25 min or more; EP = less than 25 min.
