Not bad results. I dont understand why anyone goes through trying to record in FL Studio though when theres programs 10x easier out there for vocals lol.

Post up some of your songs and people can tell you what to work on. General tips can hurt you more than they can help if somebody has no clue where you're music is at.

Agree with other two replies, just varies. I like to usually load up a piano and just kind of play along to see if anything catches my ear, then just compare which version I like, piano or no piano....

Just depends on the track, if I have no deadline for a beat I can mess with it for a month but if I'm trying to get it done by a certain date I can have them done in a few hours.

Keep working, 8 months isnt a long time. Focus on the music being amazing and the rest will fall into place.

I agree that FL Studio might be a bit easier to start with, to me the layout just always made more sense. Getting quality music out of any DAW will take some time though.

Just a transition effect, can be anything from rises, falls, sweeps etc. You can also use a drum fill by itself or even combine them.

I agree with Ozone, although I prefer to use it outside of FL studio in something like Audition.

Just keep working, 3-4 months is barely any time especially if you're learning on your own.

Hmmm start a lot of tracks with piano and then end up replacing it once I have my melody down.

I still layer drums over the sample even if it has drums in it, I usually just filter out the bottom end to make room for my own drums.

I think all the recommendations are good but the sounds you are looking for arent hard to make in any VST's so I think maybe go back and do some research in making sounds and programming synths and...

Melody always first for years but lately ive been experimenting a lot with layering and effects on drums so I've been starting with that.

Agree with this, working around acapellas will help you to stop overproducing.
