I don't usually bend the pitch of my bass at all in order to match that of the sample. I think the main reason why my basslines hit the pitch of the sample so well is because they are well confined to their own range of frequencies (pitches). In other words, the sample, synths, and most drums are in the high frequency ranges, and don't interfere with the sound of the bass, which is way down in the low frequencies. The best way to do this is to EQ heavily, and only use the frequencies you want for EACH sound. Hope this helps.
