NYC here!

Why is it everyone from NYC thinks they are tough? I am not just talking the stereotypical "tough" people; I'm talking about lawyers, doctors, and just random fools.

"I'm from Bed-Stuy, and we don't play that!"
 
LOL Maybe it's the water? A lot of professionals from NY aren't natives. They probably watched NY in film/tele and thought they had to act tough to be a real NYer. More often than not, someone ends up getting hurt. :)

Wish I had a better answer.
