    Tittle explains all...

I personaly use fruity loops for making instrumentals, because its what i first started using, im very comfortable with it, and its got tons of features i can't live without

for recording, i use reaper. This is because i am on a budget, it gets the job done, and it gets the job done fast and efficiently.

I am doing my composition in Ableton Live 8 and using Reason 6.5 as a big plug in for Live. I think the two compliment each other very well and I know Reason a lot better than I know Live. I have been doing most of my mixing in Sonar X1 because I dislike mixing in Live. It just feels akward

no flames!!! no bashing!!! just curious...

not sure how to phrase my question...

but why not mix in Reason... again... no flames or bashing... just curious...

i agree... mixing in ableton live is a little akward... i also own Cubase... there are a ton of windows you have to go thru to mix... but with Reason and stems/audio tracks... it appears to have a straight forward workflow... i.e. just come down the channel strip...

just curious about your thoughts on this...

i switched over to reaper from FL after i got sick of a few things in FL, heres some..

the mixer size and its dependency on asio to record
having to clone channels in order to timestretch parts of a sample
some plugins wouldnt load even though they were installed correctly
not necessarily a problem but FL wasnt really customizable gui and layout wise
having effects and instruments loaded in different places meant trying to remember which channels were linked if they werent renamed

no particular reason other than preference. I mixed a song in Reason last night actually.

    Presonus Studio One.

Everything... produce, record, mix, & master.

Why? B/c of it's workflow. Everything's easily laid out on the GUI. Has some nice features unique to S1. Has everything I need.
