What type of sound is used to make the melody in this song [youtube.com/watch?v=O5XOhnjvhQw] i think its a piano synth(going on a limb) but im not sure. and also where can i find that crashing snare thats also used in this song?

Just a pad synth, pretty common sound.

That slappin snare i think is a very good reverb clap layered with a crispy snare. The piano synth is actually somewhere in between a synth/pad/strings. Most likely a synth-pad.
