Is Audacity the only wave editor out there that is both mac and pc compatible? I'm trying to narrow down my setup to software that is compatible with both. Audacity seems ok especially because it is free but it doesn't support plug-ins very well according to their site.

nearly all PC based editors are compatible with MAC. only the other way around is difficult, MAC is full of proprietary bull****.

Actually, that's way off. None of the major PC audio editors are compatible with the Mac. Wavelab, Adobe Audition, and Soundforge are all PC only. There are a whole range of freeware editors, the vast majority of which are also PC only, though there are a couple that are Mac compatible. The only major editor I know of for the Mac is Bias Peak.

Yeah it's strange to me that Adobe Audition and Wavelab aren't available for mac. I use Audition currently for editing and it would be great if it was available for mac. I've used Wavelab before and I wouldn't mind using that if it was available for mac.
