Z3ta is probably my favorite to program. I also like Elec7ro and Thor. The Malstrom and Subtractor get some programming too. I just like manipulating sound.

I have loads of free VSTs I've scoured over the internet for, but my 3 main ones I use are Massive, Razor, and FM8 which I got in a NI deal a couple months ago. Massive is extremely versatile and simple to use once you understand it, Razor is very unique but probably the most limited out of the 3 (which isn't saying much, because you can get some incredible sounds out of it) and FM8 is definitely the most articulate. FM8 is complex but it allows you to recreate any sound you want, especially if you want to make your own drum samples.
