In your opinion, what is the best combination to use with Reason from the present audio producing software using rewire?? (cubase, sonar, logic, etc.) I just got Reason 2.5, but If I want to use any plugins, it looks like this will be a neccessity. Wondering what others thought . Maybe this has been asked already. Responses appreciated

The most powerful combo is Reason and Logic, due to the advanced midi features in Logic via it's environment. However, learning what it takes to make use of what makes Logic most powerful is quite a steep hill.

The quickest / easiest / pretty darn powerful is Ableton Live 2. Fantastic app, really adds to Reason by giving you nice effects and the ability to work with and timestretch audio clips along with what you're doing in Reason. It can also record from external sources.

Rason and Sonar work beautifully together for me. I have never had any problems and love the functionality of Sonar. But for your info, Sonar uses DirectX plug-ins and synths and requires a VST/DX wrapper to use VST plug-ins which costs a little more although there may be a good free wrapper somewhere. That would be the only limitation to the Sonar/Reason combo.

Watch out; Cubasis is a kind of "light" version of Cubase; you should have a look on the Steinberg pages to see if Cubasis supports ReWire ; www.steinberg.net - good luck !!

    Cubasis and rewire

cubasis DOES NOT support rewire. That goes for any version of cubasis.
