You can detach the sequencer for a better experience. just go tot he window iption and click detach sequencer. i don't know if that's what you meant

With Reason 5 you can't get the rack full screen. In 6 it's possible. As said , the sequencer you can detach and make as big as you want. That was usually how I worked in 5.
