Raising vocals from a sample...

I see a lot of tutorials on how to LOWER the vocals on a song, and in a lot of cases almost getting fully rid of the vocals... But how do you do the exact opposite of this!? I want to make the vocals high in a song and take the instruments out of it. I've been messing with tons of EQ programs, but I can't get exactly what I'm looking for...

you probably need to look into phase cancellation, it usually requires that you have the opposite of what you want - which in some cases are much rarer than the acapella.

Yeah like theproducer said phase cancellation is your best bet.
You could filter but it won't give you the desired effect i think you're lookin for.
Filtering will lower some of those levels though.

Peace

In context of how you would achieve what you are after:

imagine you had the original song track
then imagine u had the exact instrumental track of that original song

if you were to reverse the phase (many vsts will have a reverse phase option) and mix it with the original song - it would have the effect of cancelling out the instrumental parts of the song giving you the acapella.
