Hey I was just wondering if you guys knew of any good programs or websites where you could easily find the tempo for a track. I'm sure they exist I'm just unaware of any quality ones. Would greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys.

The problem with software beat detection is that it relies on peaks in the audio and so it will not work with an implied tempo (when working with an acapella for example) so an alternative method to determine the BPM is with a stopwatch and calculator, this is basically what tap tempo does, however people tend to time from beat to beat which is not as accurate as timing over the duration of a bar, accuracy can be further improved by reducing the speed of the sample when timing and then adding it back on.
Using a stopwatch and calculator means I don't have to mess around opening up any bullshit programs to find a tempo, I just time 1 bar and work out the tempo off the reading, like say I get a reading of 2.526 seconds, I just punch that shit into the calculator like this 60/2.526=23.75x4=95 BPM.
Virtual DJ just flat out lists the tempo's.
Otherwise , some DAWs have a tap tempo function, so not all. Turn on the track, loop, song or whatever and start tapping the tempo on that button. It'll tell you what tempo your tapping
You can also link the button in the software to a button on one of your pads for instance.
Scratchlive has BPM detection. It's not perfect, but gets the job done. You can download the application from Serato's website.
Download Scratch Live 2.3.3 software and manuals | Serato.com
Put the song on
Look at your watch
Wait for the seconds to hit zero
Start counting the beats
Stop counting at ten seconds
Multiply the number of beats counted by 6
