I think its even on sale for like 60bucks - my brother just bought it.
Im a big fan of Pro Tools because theres so much support out there for it, and its so compatible with other studios. Logic is around the same price as the big Cubase package and if you have a mac you cant lose...![]()

my favorite programs dont work on mac. So to me it would be a loss. Those programs being Acid, Soundforge and Sonar. I honestly see no real advantage to using a mac anyway. From what I understand they are near impossible to build, They are very expensive compared to pc and yes they run a little better but to me Windows is a lot more user friendly. I used to use nothing but macs until I turned 15 then I went pc and never went back.
Cubase is so expensive because it is so easy to use.
hahahhhaa
glad you cleared that up, because that statement earlier was pretty general lol. there are advantages to having a mac, music production on computers are only as good as the drivers you use and thats where Macs at times have an edge over the PCs, they are typically more stable and are easier to install, whereas in microsoft's case the OS doesnt always play nice, ex: Windows XP Media Center Edition which companies like Digidesign and Maudio dont support. the GUI is subjective so i wont go there, but i found it to be extremely user-friendly. out of the software that you mentioned there are Mac based alternatives...Bias Peak is comparable to soundforge, Ableton Live i prefer over Acid (this is on PC too), and of course theres Logic Express/Pro and Digital Performer. Logic Pro is one awesome package, it is quite literally a studio in a box, the plugins for it sound amazing, if you ever get a chance hit up an Apple Store and play with it. I too prefer PCs but that is mainly a pricing issue, Im rolling with the Macbook Pro + Logic Pro combo when the time comesOriginally Posted by Xabiton

Im very aware of those programs and of those things about a mac but in the end it call comes down to comfort Im not going to abandon what i have and know and are used to just because of a different OS its not worth it to me and its not really a "upgrade" imo its a life change. For me moving from Pc to Mac would be like moving from Cali to Wisconsin
Funny, I was looking a buying a G4 dual...:confused:Originally Posted by Xabiton
Now what do I do? I guess I upgrade the pc
But like demensah1 said Logic is crazy right out the box...

do what you want my opinions arent law but know that there are programs that dont work on mac. mac isnt ultimately better for anything but they are good computers. I just wouldnt use one because pcs are better for me
