Right, I know i've been posting a lot recently but I just want a definite answer before I go and spend 150 or so quid on a sampler.

All I need to do is to trigger my samples via a midi keyboard and, if possible, chop audio in the same software.

I am using pro tools 8.

I would like to know what is the cheapest piece of software that will allow me to achieve this.

    Thank you.

Yes, that is all you need. Any CONTROLLER will do. Software, nowadays, any Current software will do. In fact, there are free programs that will allow you to chop, such as audacity. But if you already have ProTool, that is all you need. Im not a PT user, but you will need a Sampler type VST to CONTROLL with your CONTROLLER. I personally use, STUDIO ONE and REASON. In Studio One, there is SAMPLER called IMPACT. I chop samples in STUDIO ONE, and drag and drop into the IMPACT SAMPLER. In REASON, I load samples into the KONG SAMPLER. From there I use my AKAI MPK49 CONTROLLER or LPK25 CONTROLLER to trigger the SAMPLER. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube. Good Luck

    Peace
