What exactly are you trying to do with the .rex file? Play it in Cubase? Play it in Reason? Rewire Reason to Cubase? Your question's posed in a kind of messy way, y'know...
Nah, it's a clear question actually. You want to play the rex file in Cubase, correct. You don't need a "player", Cubase accepts the rex file natively and directly into the sequencer. Import it the same way you would an ordinary wave file. It will automatically sync to tempo like a Rex file. Editing that rex file takes some more explaining but try double clicking on it to get you on the right track. Also, you may not know that you can do beatslicing in Cubase as well. Import an ordinary loop, double click on it and it should take you to a editor window. Again, it takes too much explaining but once you get there, take a look at the menu on top and also right click on the file's waveform and have a look at that menu as well. Using Reason, Dr Rex and rewire is overkill for something which is supported in Cubase directly. Not to mention that you can route all the slices to separate mixer channels which you can't do if you Dr Rex.Originally posted by Safra
