    remix VBplugins? help!

Sign in to disable this ad
    hi all

    quick question about remix (steinberg).

we recently bought a copy of it and installed with no problems at all. the only problem we've come across is with the VBplugins. we've followed the instructions carefully, moving the DLL files into the plugin folder, etc. to no effect. checked the preferences to make sure the plugin folder is selected.

has anyone else had problems like this or know hoe it can be sorted?

any help would be gratefully recieved.

ps.. this is my first post so if i've put this in the wrong forum please let me know.

Which are they? I mean names. Basically, if the plugin consists of only one dll (like many freeware plugs you pick from the net), then they should appear in the host if you put them in the right directory (like you described above). Some plugins though have a proper install program, or require interaction with the standalone version (like e.g. NI Absynth). I do not have Remix, but in Cubase there's a window called Plugin Information, where you can check or uncheck the plugins you want to appear/not appear in the list of available plugins.

aaah but!! are we talking Effect or Instrument plugins here?? because I'm not sure if Remix supports instrument plugins (it's an audio sequencer without midi support right?)....
    anyway, we'll get there eventually

    sorry for the late reply.

we're only trying to use effect plugins and the ones we've tried so far are just a single dll file. since i wrote last i've got a steinberg plugin called karlette working. is this anything to do with the fact that the main programme (remix) is made by steinberg? i forgot to mention before that the ones we've tried are demo versions. is it possible that demo versions that are not made by steinberg won't work? another plugin i've tried is plastiCZ (made by ReFX i think) which didn't work.

anyway thanks for the help so far (especially tripton) and if anyone else has any other ideas we'd love to hear them.

Could you download some plugins from Smartelectron:x ?
They're no demo's, but freeware; they definitely should show up. Since I don't have remix myself, I wont be able to help you if they don't....

If all else fails, try this forum: No-future , I know there's a member or two using Remix.

Remix is a stripped down version of Live (I think).

In live, only effect plugins will work (as already mentioned).

Plasticz is a synthesizer and therefore will definately not work...

I think any VSTfx should work though... try naming the plugs you are having problems with?
