Hello all. I am still new to producing. I followed advice that I had been given from my first post about what production gear to get and have kept my set up simple. I already had reason, so as people suggested, I have been learning that instead of buying new hardware and software. I don't consider myself very good at reason yet, however I am ready to buy some new gear specifically because I can't record samples into reason. Thats where you guys come in. I am looking for good software to record samples into. These would be samples from multiple audio sources (ie records, cds, dvds, vhs etc). I am using a mac laptop, but if there is any good software that is hybrid pc/mac I would like that. Should I get a new soundcard? Any recommendations? I have read many good things about what the mpc 60 does to samples even though, i think, it is of a lower bit quality than more recent models. Does any sampling software allow you to manipulate the sampling bit rates etc? Like I said, i am very new to this, so all advice no matter how basic will be helpful.
