New Fruity Loops user - couple questions..

I have been producing since 1996 now, and have used many pieces of gear for producing.
I have used the MPC2000 for sequencing for a long time.
But, I want to try some software programs and see how it goes, I heard you have alot more flexibility.

But, in Fruity Loops, I will have multiple patterns.
I then open up the playlist and sequence the patterns.
Keep in mind I am in 'song' mode. Once I choose File > Export, then export to wav, and OK...
It only creates the wav of pattern #1 which is only 347kb and like 4 seconds long.

    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

Are you absolutely sure you're in the Song mode and that your song is longer than just 1 bar?
If yes, then there is something wrong with your FL, there are no other settings that i know of.

im sure you have pattern mode selected when u export the song. i was having the same problem and then realized that i had pattern mode selected instead of song mode. If you have pattern mode selected, then the exported .wav file will be the pattern selected in the playlist. Im pretty sure this will solve your prob

    The issue

I know now what the issue was...
I 'WAS' in song mode, but while in the playlist, I had one pattern highlighted with some sort of red line. It will only export the pattern that's highlighted with that red line.
So, in the playlist, you have to double-click the top bar so that red line goes away, then it exports fine.

Hey dude, they red selection in playlist (song mode) is useful when you're working on a certain part of the song (like a break or beginning or end) and you just want that part repeat all the time. So you highlight it and the part will be player in a loop.

You can also use red selection in Pianoroll in Pattern mode to work on your sequenced parts. In pianoroll use Ctrl+Mouse1 to drag a selection rectangle around notes you want to edit exclusively, and the bottom editors (Volume, Pan) will be also edited for selected notes exclusively.
