    Arrow MIDI probs...

I get this odd "lag" when recording MIDI into any of my sequencers (Cubase, Nuendo, FL, or Cool Edit Pro). I use a Yamaha PSR225GM and I have all the connections connected correctly. Any help would be cool.

What drivers are you using? is there a latency setting?
What is the rest of your setup like?

    I'm running....

A self-built PC with these Specs:

    AMD K6-2 500 Mhz

    256 MB ram

    13 GB WD hard drive

1.5 GB Hard Drive (Where I store all my drum samples)

Creative SoundBlaster Live 5.1 (With Soundfonts)

FruityLoops 3.5 (But when I turn down the latency to record midi, the wav drums skip.)

Cubase VST 5 (But when i insert a drum wav loop, it plays once or twice then stops for no reason)

Nuendo (Does the same as Cubase)

Cool Edit Pro (the only one that works but doesn't support MIDI)

Yamaha PSR225GM with Adapter and Voyetra MIDI cables (Joystick port)

Is it a Lag in hearing the sound or a lag in the midi being recorded to a track?

    It's

Lag in MIDI being recorded to the track, but when I change the latency settings to fix it, the wav parts skip.

hmm....there are two issues i see here.
the first: That system isn't exactly lightning, although it should do that much...so power is probably not the issue

the second: Since you didn't specify this you're probably not using the kX drivers for your creative card.

I use a SB Live Audigy Platinum, which i was very unhappy with until somebody suggested the kX drivers to me. It works great now. For some reason these independant developers are 34346523452435 times better at developing drivers for Creative's hardware
