Ok i use fl studio but i want to give a try to cubase... Does it have a plug in like Fl slicer or i nneed to add a vst like kontakt to do it. How do you proccess with cubase for sampling and chopping???..
It depends on whether you need to trigger or play the samples. Cubase has a built in beatslicer, but it's made for the sequencer, not to be performed the way you would with a sampler. So as far as sampling goes, Cubase is very strong, but you will need some kind of instrument to trigger sliced samples. Cubase also does not "service" your plugin sampler with it's beatslicing unless you're using Halion. With Halion, you can drag and drop from sequencer to Halion, but Cubase doesn't support other samplers for dragging and dropping to and from sequencer.
Even if you use FL, Shortcircuit is a powerfull sampler for samplist types, who prefer to chop, and manipulate a sample into something else.
Once it cost around $130, but the developer tired of.....well developing it, so he made it freeware.
Here is the link.
Did you try version 1.1.2?
That one is in some ways more complete, and stable that version 2(0.5.1)
Try MU.Lab, or Reaper.Originally Posted by Luissio
Both have timeline style linear sequencers like Cubase.
