i have this problem with Cubase aswell as some other programs (FL Studio). When i go to the VST Instruments tab, to add a vst into my project, the only ones that show up are lm7 and some other one, the ones that come with cubase. But i have also installed onto my computer: Battery 2, Amplitube, and Enthosphere. Im in the process of installing more. But the thing is how do i get these to show up in cubase, is there a way i can select them, or show cubase where they are located or something?

The dll files have to be in your vst plugins folder.

For example, in your Battery 2 folder, you will see a dll file. Copy that file to your vst plugins folder. It's usually something like C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins.

Cubase can "see" several VST plugins folders. It always sees the one it installs itself, but if you have another one elsewhere, you just have to point Cubase to it. Look under the "Devices" menu. Click on "Plugin Information". At the top you will see "Shared VST PLugins Folder". Next to that you will see "Add". Click Add to add another plugins folder and whatever is in it will be visible in Cubase.
