Ableton live playback issues

Hi all,

Could really use some help with solving Live's output popping and cracking sounds...
I know it's an issue that has been covered a lot around forums, but I can't seem to solved it...

This issue happens especially with low sounds (like the sample attached - TEST-SUBBASS.mp3),
but also in the preferences 'test tone'.

I'm using a laptop:

i7 Intel Core / Q 720 / 1.60 Ghz / Windows 7 64Bit


RME sound card / I've tried messing around with the latency with no help, but usually it's around 256


And the CPU is low (doesn't exceed 10%)


Any ideas?

What version of Live are you using? I had similar problems with Live 8 when it was first released, but somewhere along the line, one of the updates stopped the problem.

I've been using version 8 but tested it with 9 (32bit) as well, and it's still happening...

When you tested it in 9, did you open the set that you saved in Live 8, or did you start from scratch and recreate the entire set in version 9?

Started from scratch - It's just one midi loop. Could it be an electricity issue?

I doubt it. Is it a Live instrument, or a vst?

VST (Massive), when using Operetor it's a little bit better but still not perfect.
