What's the best synth/workstation in 2012/2013 that worth for the money?

hrmm
i had learn piano for 5years with an acoustic piano
and now i am plan to get a synth/workstation .... (not a digital piano)
i can use to compose some piano song or even more than that in future
and my current budget is around $3400
my temporarily selected synth is Korg Krono 88keys

ok i already understand the feature , cons pros of this synth (so far i can't find many cons, hope someone tell me if there're)
so now the question come... the time i plan to buy is end of this year, November 2012
but it there any better suggestion ? (workstation that better than kronos 88 but the price are almost the same, not something more than that)
or news about korg or any other brand are going to release a new synth just not too long maybe in 2013 first few month and it's worth for waiting?

Now concerning the Korg Kronos...

The thing about technology is that there will always be something better right around the corner. I can buy the top of the line audio interface from RME and in a few months they'll release something better. That's just the way it goes with electronics.

If it has all of the features you need then go for it. There are producers and musicians out there that are still using the same gear since 1995.
