I got a motif xs and some one is selling a half beat up fantom x6 for 200 bucks and this is a great price, but cN I use this. Im not sure but isnt it possiable to play my motifs sounds in some tracks and on other tracks play the fantoms sound with my motifs keys. Reason why I gotta use my motif keys is cause the fantom keys are broken.

To my limited knowledge, as long as there's some sort of MIDI out with settings on one and MIDI in on the other, you should be able.

BUT! Do check your manuals (you should be able to find either manual online easily enough) for their MIDI capabilities because I'm not a reliable source and really can't be trusted.

You are correct, if you hook the midi out of your motif to the midi in on the fantom, it will play the fantoms sound with the motif's keys.

You can treat it like a module, now that's not not necessarily limited to editing and changing patches from the control panel of the actual Fantom by using buttons that could be potentially broken, you should be able to edit and select patches using software on your computer provided it's available to you (Google for it) I use Cubase myself and I use most of my hardware from on screen like it is a VST, I can change patches from drop down menus move virtual controls around to edit sounds etc, but you need to find out whats available for the Fantom and your DAW.

I think he wants to combine sounds from both into his Motif sequencer, and trigger both simultaneously. I would image you could, but dont know for sure. Call Roland and Yamaha first.
