Request : Hints for Warm Analog Growling Bass synth.

    Hello there,

First post, so sorry if i'm not in the good section for such topic.

Basically, i'm the bass player of a french band which evolve from doom metal (we are moving off the doom trend) to crushing growling analogish synth rock music. We are three in the bands, one drummer, one guitarist and me as bass player switching sometimes on analog synth.

For now, our first tracks were pretty classic as a rock band setup (drum, guitar, bass) but we are more and more integrating analog synth in our tunes. I already have a DSI mopho which using fuzz pedals and bi-amp system (bass rig and guitar rig) sounds awesome.

Last time i've tried it everything was shaking from the ground to walls at the basement where we are doing rehearsal. Using synth on PA are more than ok of course but using amps and cabs to color the sound ain't that bad really.

Now, i just want more and would like to add another synth which sounds analog, maybe a bit vintage but with a punchy vca, with true VCO and that can makes everything shaking and put that punchy growl in your stomac.

The ones who had experimented it live know what about i'm talking about. Being mostly a bass player i don't know that much about analog synth, however studied synthesis during years (even did some course at IRCAM in Paris) so I do have knowledge about synthesis and synth programming isn't a problem at all.

I know this post might be kinda redundont and that everyone taste are personnal but i just wanna have some hints to check youtube videos and try synths by myself before adding another one which will pair nicely with the mopho.

For now, we just put one track online but for those who are curious about our song esthetic you can check it out at soundcloud searching for bagarregenerale.

Please bear in mind this isn't in the optic i'm not in a studio approach or producer approach but more as a musician going to perform live and if things goes well going on tour next year.

    Regards.

Moog Slim/Little Phatty or Studio Electronics SE-1x might fit the bill. Or as a black horse, I'd look at the older Waldorf stuff - Microwave I/II or Pulse.

Moog Little Phatty is a cheap all analog that could do what you're talking about.
