    Programmable Synth Hardware?

Sign in to disable this ad
Hey everyone, just going to take a shot in the dark by posting here. Is there any sort of Hardware Rompler that has the same capabilities of VST's like Massive?

This might be a newbie question, but I was hoping there would be something out there I just can't find any names. Any help would be appreciated.

the virus TI can be integrated as a vst, with automation control over the paramters. it can even stream directly into your DAW via usb or something.

convenient, but other than saving the processing power that it takes to run a softsynth (and the fact that you can sell the TI when youre done with it _and someone will buy it_, unlike most software) there's not a great advantage.

Thanks for the reply. I was looking into the Virus TI, for a grand I would hope it would boost my work flow quite a bit.

Why rompler? Sounds like you'd be just looking at regular synths.

i should have said "not a great _sonic_ advantage" . you will benefit some time-wise from not having to set up templates and deal with all those related problems.

He's asking if there are HW synths that have synthesis parameter control (waveform manipulation, filter, LFO etc.) I guess.
Have a look at the Alesis Ion if you're going cheap, else maybe an Alesis Fusion (great programmability with a lot of other capacity)

Thanks everyone for the replies. After some research I think I might as well just pick up a new midi controller with just a lot of knobs and faders instead of spending over a grand on more hardware that I won't use fully and start making some templates.
