MPD 32 problem

I previously had an MPC 2000 but I felt that the MPD32 would be more appropriate for me. My MPD 32 came today but I seem to have a problem with it, despite it being plugged in and the LCD backlight showing the screen is blank. In the sense, it lacks any text at all. Does anyone have any solutions?

if you're on windows id try restarting a few times...sometimes windows usb drivers can be finnicky

Thank you for responding and providing some sort of contribution. In regard to what you have said, I have tried that numerous times on both my PC and laptop.

are you hooked up to a usb hub? sometimes theres no enough current when the usb is split

No, the MPD is being directly connected.

you haven't gotten windows to recognize it yet right? in the device manager

Everything is fully functional apart from the screen, I've connected the MPD to FL studio and assigned samples to it with no problem. The LCD backlight is on but there is no tex.

oh damn...i was assuming nothing was getting into the computer from the mpd....that sounds like a lemon to me.
