    hello. whats up with using bass sounds on the mpc? it is always distorted and it ****s up the kicks and other bass sounds in samples - I guess generally i cant use any base sounds because it always sounds ****ty. any ideas? also is there any a place to download some good bass samples?

    It's Probably ure speakers...as far as bass sounds..u can get some off the akai site for the weekly downloads.

    Change the output level in "other" settings. You could be distorting your sounds before they get out of the MPC. Also try using multiple outputs. Running everything out of the stereo outs usually sounds real muddy.

    Most likely your speakers cannot handle the low frequencies correctly, either that or your samples are clipping (view the waveform and see if the peaks have been 'sliced' at the top).
