you can import your drum samples to any workstation that has a sampler.. but you still have to do some work, assign the samples to keys, create programs, save them to disk. And you'd have to load the samples every time you power up your workstation (this is the same with any sampler, including mpc)

MM6: no (also it's ones the ugliest workstations ever!)

LE: yes, but you would need an expansion board called EXB-SMPL

    Trinity: no

The MM6 Yamaha is what i use, and for $599 i couldnt be more happier. First off, its not ugly, but i dont know why this guy would say that unless hes one of the guys from QUEER EYE show.

Personally I like the sequencer on the MM6 because it very simple. Also there are alot of nice synth and drum sounds on to keep one very happy.

I dont know about the other three machines

599 is about as cheap for quality as you can get, anything under that will be a waste. You could get an MPC 500 for the same price about, but thats not a keyboard.

No, but it does come with a usb port in it so you can export you songs. I would say anything (for your low budget) that can import is going to be more expensive.

If you have your own drum kits already, get an MPC 500 or a MPC 2000xl because you can get them for realtivily cheap. MPC 500= $500
MPC 2000xl= $700-300 these machines will let you import and export you own sounds.

Yes, and i am glad you are trying to get away from software. Its expensive but if you get an MPC 500 and a MM6, youll have a nice setup. IF you can though, i would try to get an MPC 1000 because the screen is bigger and it allows you to see more when seqencing and sampleing.. Message me if you have any more questions....
