I have just purchased reason 4 for my laptop as i want to begin producing music right away, i have a dell inspiron 1720 laptop and as expected, once installed i have an immediate problem with latency and so forth. Since i am totally new to all of this, i need advice on what type of extra equipment to get to have reason running perfectly. My friend has suggested a few Audio Interfaces to begin with, does anyone know what kind of set-up would be perfect for me to run this software?
I have a budget for the audion interface of around £150/$250

If you have taken the time to read this thankyou!

also someone suggested an Alesis IO2?? any good for what i want??

Cheers.

I would dish out the $350 to get a Digidesign Mbox. This way you will have pro tools software which will allow you to record audio. Also, do you have monitors and/or headphones? Because it's difficult to do good production using the external speakers on a laptop.
