I just got an Ion and I can't figure out how to use the vocorder, or any of the effects for that matter. Can anyone help me?

Yeah I got it, have you read that thing? its confusing, I mean I guess I could spend a couple more hours looking at it, and I probably would figure it out, but I was hoping someone had experience on this forum. Thanks

You should take a couple of hours and read the manual.

Seriously, man ... 2 hours is nothing if you are serious about this stuff at all.

Theres only like two - three or four soundpatches that will work for vocoder on the ion, tweak it out you'll get the hang. Previous owner, using Roland VariOS for vocoder now though. It's not all that hard though like Dansgold said just check out the vocoder section of the manual & your in.
Do it til it sounds good

    Exclamation

My Ion is arriving on Saturday!

Apart from being freaked about dropping €450 on something second-hand, I'm PSYCHED about getting my first hardware synth.

It's gonna be so much funnnnn!

make sure your mic is running through a preamp or something first. at least thats how the micron is. i couldn't figure out why the vocoder wasn't working until i realized i needed a preamp.
