yo - found an MC 303 on the street - which says a lot - it works. I dig and loop with the mpc1000 - but how can I use the 303 with the mpc? Should I use it as a sound module??? should I hook it up to the midi? are any sounds worth using? the bass?

-I know it sucks so don`t bother telling me that

It doesn't have a really good keyboard, so there isn't really much you could use it for that isn't a sound module. Plug in a midi cable from MIDI out 1 on your mpc to MIDI in on the 303. Then you just program and sequence from the MPC.

I would rather create sequences with the mc303....using x0x style sequencing is pretty fun and it gets you into a certain workflow which helps some people achieve a specific sound that they are after.

    Put it back..
Thats the best thing you can do with it.

JK, syncing those units is fairly easy if you speak rolandnese. But trying to use it as a modual.... break out the manual and get ready for the midi nerd olympics.
It's not the tools you use to make the beat. It's how you use your tools to carve out the groove from your soul.

yeah - after playing around with it a bit I'm beginning to see what you mean. the sounds are whack - sounds 1-deminsional. maybe it'd be fun to program some cheesy beats into it

I do not think it sucks.

I spent a couple of years with one, got one of the first models made about 10 years ago.

I had a ton of fun with it. The realtime filter is ok, at least it gives you something different to play wiht along with your MPC.

I remember having so much fun with it. I used to "fly" back and forth on the interface. Not a bad machine at all.

What do you mean you "found it on the street?"

Another ex-mc303 owner gone mad? maybe the old xwife kicking the bugger out for buying more gear...lol
