Alesis micron

I have just purchased an Alesis Micron. I have connected headphones and cannot get any sound other than a whistling sound when the volume is on full. I have tried the reset factory default to no avail. I cannot get sound through the amp, other than very faint at full volume.
I have checked the connections.
I would value any assistance.

Did you buy it used? If so you probably have a bad output problem.This is common on some Microns.My right output is starting to go on mine..But there is a fix.Google "alesis micron fet problem" and you will see what you need to do.I would post the link but I'm on fp mobil..
