Do you use your keyboard to control midi or actually record sounds?

depends on wat type of keyboard u have if its jus a midi controller than it only sends midi messages and has no sounds on it (although there are so hybrids out there like the xiosynth) a workstation is used for the sounds but it can also be used as a midi controller, the big 3(fantom,triton,motif) are sampler/sequencers so u could basically make a whole song on them

I have a triton pro. And i use to use it for everything. But now i'm more into sampling. So I might use it as an controller. or for a bassline on a track. then if i need a special drum patch i'll use it.

Why? When it offers me everything I need and I can get the job done and still make sounds u hear today in some music. Its not the gear its what u do wit da gear dat makes it unique. If u want to buy me some gear then be my guess but at the moment NOPE. But thanks for being concerned.

I use it for controlling reason. I get the drums poppin on the mpc 1k then use my keystation and reason 3.0 to sprinkle a lil southern fried funk over the boom bap lol.
