They will. That's college life for you.

Consider getting the "laptop lock" cables and nail that stuff down whenever you aren't looking at it.

Take it with you, BUT lock the stuff in the closet when you arent around unless you have a room to yourself

If you can i say get a laptop cause u can take that everywhere u go. Just my two cents. I rather not have access to my gear cause its home than have it stolen.

Haha, im majoring in comp sci and game design too. It'll be interesting to see how I can balance my beats and school work at the same time. My school also has a studio too, but I dont kno how accessible it is to people majoring outside of music.

Find out if there is anyway you can insure your gear in the dorm. I'm not sure how that would work in a dorm but for apartments you can purchase renters insurance. It's pretty inexpensive and if anything happens to your gear they'll replace it.

If you're still a dependant, you can usually get the **** in your dorm covered under your parents' homeowner's insurance.
