If your not learning your not living.
the oasys is as said before in a league of its on. the best comparison would be between the fantom g, yamaha motif, and the KORG M3. the m3 has good sounds, great synth, karma 2 is unbeatable, touch screen with XY CONTROL just like a kaoss pad whoa, but yes the roland dose have the 8'' color lcd screen. but any way with all the effects the korg m3 has plus the oasys engine inside it, it should be # 1 out of theses three. WHAT DO YOU THINK?????????????????????????????????
what no replies, guess i was right korg m3 still prince of keyboards, oasys king of keyboards
so anybody played a korg lately

I keep up with Korg, Yamaha, and Roland. Heard about the Fantom-G a while back. I actually looked it up last week and found some new information on it....
First of all, the Motif isn't even in this catgory lol. The Fantom-G is the only instrument (don't think it's even out yet) that will be considered in the same category as the Oasys.
I'm not saying the Oasys is better or worse than the Motif...I'm just saying they are different machines. I personally would be using a Motif over the Oasys any day because of the needs and demands I have. The only comparison you can make Motif XS to are Fantom X series and Triton Extreme series.
The Fantom G is the only new board that will be able to compete with the Oasys and as far as I know right now I'd assume it SHOULD be better than the Oasys considering it was built to destroy it.
But for now, I'm thinkin the Oasys is better. Either way, I'm not interested in either one.
I don't care what I have or use... I'm going to make it work for me. Finally got rid of my original Fantom... not the S or X... but the original joint and picked up a Motif XS. Love the guitars on it... Fantom didn't have anything like it.
i just had to hit up cuz of your sig....that's cuz most people don't do product research ya dig. arranger keyboards are just that. arrangers, know the difference between arranger and a synth workstation.Originally Posted by Vhz

i like to make my shit with lil or no quantize...let that shit breath.

I would get the miko.
the major problem that the Oasys had/has is price... i know a lot of people who would go for it, if it wasn't the price of a car. $8,000-$10,000 is simply too much for an average producer... i don't really even see them in studios (i could be wrong).
Not sure how much the G is going to go for... i see it online for about $3,500 for 88 key, but it's got a lot going for it, and can see why someone would jump from X to G.
XS is very very nice, but i don't see too much to want to make a jump from the ES (kinda like XP to Vista)
Overall i think each has it's plus and minus, if i had to choose one, i'd go for Oasys.
To be honest i still don't see the big deal with the miko/niko ... it sounds like a great thing for the PRO producers who have to travel a lot and need everything in one machine or do a lot of road tours... or even for those who are "afraid" of making the jump to software... but personally i'd rather get a quadcore with a bunch of RAM and harddisk, load it up with my DAW/sequencer of choice and VST's and a midi and go at it.
It always comes down to, what works for you.
You all crack me up! The Fantom G is winning and no one here has probably ever even seen it, let alone played it!
Don't get me wrong I love my Fantom X, and I love my Motif XS, but this poll is bullshyt! Comparing a synth like the Oasys ($8000) with synths you can get for 1/4 the price and then one of those isn;t even out yet and it is in the lead in the poll???
RIDICULOUS!
Co-sign. Outside of the interface and the expanded effects, I didn't see enough to justify jumping from the ES.Originally Posted by theanomoly
