MPC1000 lack of midi time code

MPC 1000 only has midi clock which I heard doesnt allow you to record multiple tracks effectively to a software sequencer such as cubase. So how does everyone track music from the MPC 1000? DO they record each track one at a time? I currently own a MPC2000 and I use Midi Time code to sync my music 8 tracks at a time to the computer which saves alot of time. Let me know if there is any other way the MPC 1000 can record multiple tracks to the computer?

cubase send out midi clock but it can't take it. Which means that you will alwyas have to use cubase as teh master which is no big deal because this is what most do anyways. I usually use a hardware recorder to track my beats. Less fuss with getting the track down and mixed.

but using cubase as the master means i have to make the beat in cubase? CUbase quantize sucks. THats why i use the mpc. Let me know if im not understanding the concept correctly.

no you make the beat in the MPC, and you sent a midi clock signal to the MPC to start the MPC and cubase will start to record. I know there are a few cubase users on www.mpc-fourms.com who can help you if you ask correcly. But last I checked it worked. MTC sucks to me anyway, haha

thanks for your reply but everyone has told me that you Midi time clock has more limitations that midi time code. i was told that midi time clock doesnt sync well when you're tracking more than one track at a time to the pc. Please advise. MPC forums hasnt helped me at all.

haha man try it out for yourself. I track all 6 outs of my MPC 1000 right into my yamaha or roland all the time with no hiccups. I think it you are doing some serious tracking you loose the timing, but for a MPC 1000 midi clock is sufficent. Look into your cubase manual for sending midi time code signals. I only have used sonar to synch my MPC 1000 and it worked fine when my soundcard was working.

oh man you don't even have it yet. Haha I was trying to get you up and running. Like I said cubase sends midi clock it just can't take it. But the Mpc can still be a slave to cubase
