Mpc 2000xl and an audio interface

Help i bought an audio interface so i can connect my mpc. i connected it through midi and went in my settings and think everything is set up correctly but i cant get anything to happen. Any info?
 
im tryng to record from the mpc into the computer software. as im creating a drum track i want the program to record
 
Well if you're trying to record the MPC you don't need the midi cable plugged in at all unless you are trying to synchronize with some DAW. All you need to do is connect the audio outs of the MPC to the audio ins of your interface. Make sure your interface is selected as the primary sound device, set the record level to an appropriate amount, and go for it.
